On October 1st, 2017, 58 lives were lost and 515 injured and left fighting for their lives when a lone gunman began raining bullets from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay during a country music festival. This is a tragic, horrific situation and many peoples lives will forever be changed because of this senseless act of violence.
I’ve had a really hard time wrapping my brain around what happened at Route 91 Harvest a little under two weeks ago. The worst shooting in modern day history happened right in our very own backyard....ten miles from our front door! Even though the Bible says that these wicked things would happen in the time of the end, it is still so sad to see. We took a drive down to the Las Vegas Sign this past Monday... There were so many people there and yet it was so quiet.. Everyone was so respectful of each other.. So many were in tears..... It made me long for the day when Jehovah God brings our dead loved ones back to life in Paradise...How wonderful it will be!
Revelation 21:4 says “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”
Brandon and I are safe and thankfully, we were nowhere near where the shooting took place. Time and unforeseen occurrence can affect any of us, at any time. Treasure the moments with family and friends, laugh every day, say “I’m sorry”, forgive freely and make sure you always hug your loved ones extra tight.
I think it is safe to say you don’t need to believe the same as we do to know that we all need a little HOPE. If you have a Bible nearby, please read this scripture.. I have been finding a lot of comfort in it today.
Ps 37:34
Hope in Jehovah and follow his way, And he will exalt you to take possession of the earth. When the wicked are done away with, you will see it.
